Tuesday, nearly two hours after McDermott said Diggs wasn’t there, the Bills confirmed that Diggs had been at team facilities in Orchard Park on Monday and Tuesday morning, but left ahead of practice. An initial report came down that Diggs had, in fact, been at team facilities, but then left. That led to a roller coaster next two hours while the team was conducting its practice. The coach refused to get into any details and did not provide any context to Diggs’ absence other than the receiver wasn’t there for practice. Then, when asked if he was concerned over Diggs’ absence, McDermott said he was “very concerned, very concerned.” “Stef is not here, everybody else is here at the current time,” McDermott said, choosing his words wisely. It was the first topic brought up with coach Sean McDermott, and his responses immediately set off alarm bells. Stefon Diggs, the team’s star receiver, had yet to attend any of their voluntary Organized Team Activities through May and June, further emphasizing the intrigue surrounding his potential whereabouts for the mandatory minicamp. As mandatory minicamps go around the NFL, the Bills had one of the more unique starts on Tuesday.
